Srinagar, May 15 (KNO): Continuing its operation against drug peddlers, smugglers, Jammu and Kashmir Police in Sopore on Wednesday said to have attached property of a notorious drug peddler worth lacs in village Reban area of Sopore.
Police in Sopore attached a storey residential house valued approximately 16 lakhs and 10 marlas land valued approximately 5 lacs located in village Reban area of Sopore, under the NDPS Act 1985 belongs to notorious drug peddler namely Mohammad Ashraf Ganie son of Ghulam Rasool Ganie resident of Reban Sopore, a police spokesman said in a statement issued to the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO).
The said property was acquired by the accused from the gains of selling drugs. The inquiry revealed that the said immovable property was raised and used for illicit trafficking by the drug peddler, police said.
“This operation reaffirms the commitment of Police to combat the drug menace. Local people of the area hailed the initiative of Police with regard to the attachment of immovable property which has been raised and used from illicit trafficking of narcotics by the drug peddler,” police said—(KNO)
